Typographic Poster Design
"The Future Will Soon Be Past" is a typographic poster that was designed as a graphic solution to a six word memoir.
The premise of the project was to create a “Six Word Memoir”poster that relied heavily on typography, with limited imagery and color.
The final design is best described as “60’s retro-futurism mixed with a 90’s CD”. “Past”is intentionally the largest element of the design, symbolizing that the most significant portion of time consists of the past. The radial gradient gives a fading effect as the letters become smaller, illustrating the past growing distant as the future replaces it. “Future” is the focal point of the design, drawing the eye through high contrast and the variety of color.
Ideation and Concepts for Poster
The design of the poster underwent significant changes throughout the process. My initial concept sketches were firmly based in a cube grid which created the base for the final design.
